Sump Pump Discharge
I have an enourmous sump pit and I usually get a good amout of water coming in when it rains. Right now I have a Zoeller M-98 and a few weeks ago we had about 6" of rain and it just couldnt keep up. I have another M-98 I am going to put in the pit and was just curious if I could tie the two discharge pipes together? Right now I have a 1 1/2 discharge all the way to our storm sewer. If I Y the two together with check valves, would that be sufficient to handle both pumps, or would I be doing more damage than good?

I am not sure about the capacity of the 1 1/2" line, but if you have a big enough pit, consider a dual pump system which alternates pumps.

Each pump needs an 1-1/2" line (1.77 sq in), and a 2" line (3.14 sq in) might come close to being enough for two ... and yes, check valves would keep the water flowing on out if only one pump were running.
