I am doing a dishwasher install on a whirlpool GU2700. all went well until the mounting to the counter top. The unit is level and positioned nicely, when screwing the unit the counter it distorts it somehow and the door closes funny. With out the unit screwed into the counter the door opens and closes properly. To back track a little the counter is one of those old formica ones with a rounded end and a lip. So the dishwasher slips in, but the area to screw in the bracket has about a 3/4" gap between the bracket and the bottom of the counter. So I screwed in a couple chunks of wood to the bottom of the counter top to make it level with the lip, this allows me to screw into the piece of wood. Is this causing me trouble? should I remove the counter and raise the dishwasher to sit up against the bottom of the counter? One last thing the counter is not level, but it would require a lot of work to level it. I did shim the high side of the counter, but it still did not work. Any thoughts or ideas
