Please help me?? My well pump and pressure tank somehow filled with scalding hot water and then the intake line exploded leaving me burnt fairly badly. Can you help me find out what caused this.??
I am working with a friend that has pre war Crane faucets (Crane-FB1077). I replaced a washer, and it did not fix the faucet. I think the seat needs to be fixed. I found an old post you wrote that said to use the right tool or the faucet will be ruined. Is the right tool an appropriate allen wrench, or do I need to order a pool? How do I find the correct seat to replace my current one?

I have lavatories with grid drain with small holes an no overflow for a specialized application (psychiatric facility). Opening the holes in the drain is not an option. Can we fix the problem by using an AAV?

You wrote in 2008 to another poster: You are being air-locked by the bubble between the trap and the strainer. The openings in the strainer are not large enough for the air to escape AND let the water drain down at the same time. It is compounded by the strainer being flat so that there are no pressure differentials created. A domed strainer or larger holes will cure the problem.

I just changed my water filter and now I have VERY low water pressure. I have been doing this every 6 months for years and have never had this problem. Please help!
I have a leaky Pegasus shower faucet installed in 2007 similar to the one posted from someone from Texas and my local plumber prefer to replace the whole system indicating no Pegasus cartridge in the market available now. There is a number sticker on the back of the cover plate 12101. I do have a picture of the cartridge with the cover plate removed but I don't know how to insert it in this forum.

    (i ran out of characters)...

I would like to ask your help and advice with approaching this challenge.

I just signed up for this forum and am eager to contribute what I can as well. Our team is mostly water chemists with expertise in rust, water testing and water chemistry. Would love if you might point me in the direction of good forums we could participate in!

    Thanks

    Hey HJ
My name is Johnny and I am working with some folks at UC Berkeley and Boston University to gather water quality data for private wells nationwide.
I am curious whether plumbers would be interested in receiving free water testing kits from us to then sell to their customers at a low price.
    Thank you very much

Burnham propane boiler runs but will not light after a very heavy long downpour. It has been checked by 3 different Technicians. Consensus is it needs a condensation drain in vent pipe. Mfg says it needs one if vent pipe runs up but not if vent if pipe runs down. Vent pipe is short and way up between rafters. Cannot tell with a level if it runs up or down. Could you please advise. Thanks
I found your response dated 11/27/12 to a "no water in shower tried everything" that was spot on for my problem. I was trying to educate myself before I pay a plumber $600 to replace my shower valve after he said replacing the cartridge didn't fix the problem...thanks.
I have a Kenmore Elite Water Softener (Model # 625.385200) that I installed using Sodium Chloride. I am interested in using Potassium Chloride. What is the process or procedure I should follow to start using Potassium Chloride? In other words, do need to drain the system of sodium chloride before applying potassium chloride, etc?

Any help or guidance on my request would be appreciated.

My toilet rough is 15.25" from wall. Current toilet stands out 5.25" from wall! Total wall width in powder room is 49". Need powerful toilet as we entertain often. I can't find a 14" rough in, with round seat and comfort height. I find elongated bowls which reduce distance from front to wall to 16". Plumbing is lead pipe and changing it would require ripping up finished hardwoods and finished basement ceiling.

Howdy, I've been working in the plumbing field for 17 yrs. , I believe most plumber have a little pride in what they do, I know I do. I can't stand char, or burn marks on my wood. I have done the "OH crap dance", one too many times. Several yrs ago, I came up with a nifty device. Got the patent, and soon you'll be able to purchase them thru Ferguson.
