Hello. I have a tub stopper that is stuck and cannot fill up water for a bath. It drains well but when I try to flip the switch up it barely moves. The tub stopper is about 8 years old. I unscrewed the tub stopper and tried to pull up but it's stubborn so I poured clr down and waited 30 minutes and still stuck. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Trip lever waste/overflow assemblies are most always slip-joint and code requires slip-joint assemblies to be permanently accessible. Now you know one of the reasons.

You live and you learn. I'm going yo muscle it then, worst case I'll open the plaster side wall (I know it's a little messy) and work from there. I'll create an access panel once completed.
