Ok … so clearly quality control is dead. I purchased a Moen M-Core valve and had damage on the threads. I returned it and received replacement. Guess what … damage on the threads … but better. I am thinking this one is ‘good enough’ but wanted to see if the plumbing gods agree.

Both are absolutely fine If you are taking about the first thread a little nick or a big nick wont hurt a thing as long as the bottom sometimes ill take my tiny tim saw and rake out the burrr thats pushed into the v of thread

Thanks for the reply. Just to clarify, you are saying all good as long as there there is nothing at the bottom poin if the V that would keep the female treads from bottoming out. If that was the case, I would need to clear it out. Correct?

I can understand the smallest nick on certain things can be a disaster on others not so much
