I installed a new shower with a presloped mortar bed, a leak-tested membrane and a steel drain assembly. My client removed the grate to flush out the line when the existing drain pipe backed up. When he resolved that issue he noticed that the painted steel drain assembly already showed rust after a matter of weeks. Is there any cause for concern?
