I'm having problems with my softener. I placed two bags of salt in on the 20th and today is the 27th and its below the 2 level all ready, also the water isn't as soft as usual. What can the problem be?

How old is the softening system? If the resin is 8 years old, maybe it has deteriorated.
How much hardness and iron in the water?
How many people?
Well or city water?
What is your controller? Note that if you have a cabinet softener, people here will have less experience with those.
How big is your resin tank?
What is a "2 level"?
Maybe you used a lot more water than usual.
