Roof vents too short?

Hello,
We recently bought a remodeled home that is 44 years old. We are having some plumbing issues with our main line and because of this, I am trying to check all plumbing I can see to make sure we don't have other problems along with our main line issue. Looking outside, it seems our vent stacks extending out of the roof are too short. If we wanted to extend these, how would we go about doing it? Here are pictures. Just asking for opinions and advice. Thanks.

My advice would be to cut the off below the roof couple on a longer pipe, you may have to have a roofer to check or replace the flashing.

Put a coupling on the pipe and add a short piece of pipe into it.
