I have a Kohler Elate kitchen faucet, model number 13963, it has a lever/button to switch between "shower" spray and a normal aerated flow. The aerator is part number1061023. I need to remove the aerator in the center so that I can install an adapter to use my Python aquarium water change system.

I have spent serious time combing the internet and did call Kohler's customer service number. They told me it just twists out. I'm pretty sure I need a key to do that, but they weren't able to tell me WHICH key I need. They recommended using a needle nose pliers to grip the edge and twist, but the gap between the outside of the aerator and the inside of the "collar" around it is 1 mm or less.

Anyone able to give me some advice?
