We installed a Grohe Smart Controller with two push buttons for the rain shower head. One button is a rain shower. Second button creates water pouring down out of the center of the shower head without a rain shower effect. If you press both buttons, both features take place at the same time.

The shower has two of these. One on both ends of the shower for each shower head. The one operates flawlessly. The other, one button does nothing. The other button turns on both features at the same time. How is this possible?

Without pulling the switch and checking it with a meter it's a guess. System has to be diagnosed. Bad switch, bad connection, loose wire might take 5 minutes or 5 hours.

The wires. No batteries. I think it’s the Grohe Diverter valve in the shower head area. Something is wrong with it. Thank you

Just to clarify...you have two grohe shower valves in the same shower (his and hers) .....One shower valve controls one rain head and one shower head? does the second shower valve also have the same two outlets (rain head and shower head?)... clarify

Yes, the one that is not operating correctly is using this two push button system. The second button doesn’t have to go to just a tub.

The other shower head and controller is the three button system like attached with a wand sprayer.

In both systems, one button turns on rain shower, the other turns on straight down flowing water, both of them together run both at same time. Ours, one button does nothing and the other does both.

Ok so If I understand correctly, The two push button system is the shower not working they way you like. correct? So I am not confused lets only talk about the one that your having trouble with...button one goes to your shower head and button two also goes to your shower head which gives you the ability to toggle back and forth between the two sprays you like. Correct? Lastly one picture shows a second diverter that came with the shower head. Are you using this?

the shower box with the three outlets is operating properly . Each outlet A,B and C are plumbed and have a place to go (hand shower and inlet 1 and inlet 2 of rain head) it will operated two at the same time by pressing two buttons to its on position.
The smart box with two outlets need to be plumbed to outlet B and C (A is plugged). This will allow one or both shower head functions to operate. Im Guessing that outlet A was used instead of plugged . See Diagram below. I hope this helps. Sorry for the bad news.
