I had to custom make a few ducts to my heat pump that connects at unit , an wanted to know on sealing them if you apply the duct sealant on joints made with s channel an if you use the mesh type tape-similar to drywall type .Also is it only applied on outside of joints or both inside an outside ?
I have the master-flow sealer in the tub ,in pic..
Any additional info or tips are appreciated.

Never used mesh tape. Duct sealant we use mainly on wireflex at metal crimped connectors as an adjunct to the snap ties, though prefer mylar duct tape really.
Duct sealant in your case is more like spread out caulking.
For most joints as you describe we normally use the aluminum 'putty tape' for clean and secure joints.
