Cutting vent pipe near floor. How do you guys keep the pipe from falling through the floor after cutting?

Riser clamp, but you might want the clamping in place before cutting.

riser clamp a very good way , could even argue the best way to support the pipe. other ways kinclude a 2 hole strap and a block of wood maybe wrap some felt or even a rag if its temporary . The Riser clamp installed properly is a very safe way and nothing is more important than safety

Good idea , unfortunately I don't have room for a risre clamp. Vent pipe comes through 2x4 bottom plate about 2 inches from wall stud.
