I have a 30 year old home with Delta Monitor 1500 series shower and tub faucets (3 of them). With separate controls for water volume and temperature. The finish is polished brass and is in terrible condition in need of replacement. Apparently there are two types of 1500 units. Those which the plate was held with bolts at 1&7 o’clock position, others like mine with bolts at 5&7 o’clock position. Delta tells me current 1700 series parts can be used for 1&7 configuration but they have no solution for mine (5&7 o’clock position). Does anyone know a source for replacement trim parts for Delta monitor 1500 series with bolt holes at 5&7? That way I won’t have to tear up the wall.

Delta's RP29405 1500 to 1700 conversion will work with both screw locations. The rough valve accepts both.

Note that it says it only has diagonal eschutcheon screw holes - those are the 1&7. My rough in only has holes for 5&7.

Hi there. Did you ever find a solution for this? I am having the same issue with a house I purchased recently, it has holes in the plastic piece in the wall for 1, 5, 7, and 11 but only 5 and 7 have a metal piece behind it allowing me to thread a screw. The plumbing store told me I can only replace my current trim with 1700 series trim and need to do the conversion valve but all 1700 series trim has the screw holes at 1 and 7.
