Hi there,

I am trying to help out a family member who purchased a bathtub trim kit (Brizo Rook) to replace the original trim kit. I am running into struggles with figuring out if there is a way for the tub spout to be installed properly on a copper stub out. To me, there doesn't seem to be a way without replacing the elbow joint behind the finished wall and putting on a threaded pipe at the right length. It seems that the threaded female connection on the spout needs to connect right at where the finished wall is so I couldn't solder on a copper fitting without more clearance. Any insight would be greatly appreciated

Thanks,
Scott

Brizo and Moen do make slip spouts that can use the copper stubout.
The spout you have is threaded, which does require a pipe nipple, or at least cutting back the copper inside the wall for a male adapter.
I would get a different tub spout.
