Hi fellow rough hands. Longtime advice lurker, first time poster. Wrapping up a bath remodel for my wife’s Aunt out of charity after she cared for her late GMa in this home. Family first! Sort of a new beginnings thing. Project is in Nashville, this is my 6th bath in some shape or form, often from what I learned here and elsewhere, but I’ve dabbled in construction since framing in college. I’m thinking about branching out and pursuing a GC, but struggling with the numbers right now. I’ve had her friends and neighbors asking me to look at their projects and just curious what this should have cost.
I was looking for some ideas of what you’d charge or pay for this??
Summary: demo a fiberglass shower unit, garden soaker, cabs, flooring, some walls, flipped the shower plumbing to the new side, moved the toilet, minor adjustments to drains, moved and added lighting, new exhaust, scabbed the joists to lower subfloor for low profile Schluter pan, scratch built niche, bench, knee-wall, misc. framing, backer boards, cement backer, drywall, Kerdi,
~150SF marble(thanks Auntie) in shower that was an experience w/ a soft stone.
~12SF mosaic
~1’x 2’ niche
~60SF porcelain floor
Wood base throughout
Grout, caulk, mud, sand, paint, fixtures etc.
Finishing up a few items this week, grout base, paint, buff out the shower, sealer, clean up etc.
Did pretty much everything solo minus shower glass install, cab and counter install that they farmed out.
I have hard count on material costs, but somewhat foggy on the Nashville labor I put in and was hoping for some wiser souls than me to offer some advice and ballpark numbers as I grow. Thank you in advance!
