    Bathtub three faucet stem removal

    I have been trying to remove this stem for some time. I do not see any large hex that I can grab onto. I have tried pulling to no avail. In the attached photos, the packing nut is removed, the outer ring goes all the way back to the bronze fixture, I just can't show that on a photo. Any help...

    My house was built in the 60's and I assume original 3 handle bathtub faucet. "Standard" "Made in USA" is stamped on the drain lever cover. I can remove the handles and escutcheon and the packing nut with a 5/8" wrench. I see a larger hex nut behind that. The packing nut was screwed into...
