    Wayne PC2 - Do I need a water strainer?

    I've never owned a water pump before and I've ordered a Wayne PC2. I was planning to purchase an inline/t-line water strainer with a 50 or maybe even an 80 mesh to keep sand, dirt and debris out of the pump. Now I'm wondering if that sort of stuff will even hurt the pump and maybe I don't need...
