    Water Supply to Barn

I'm running water out to the barn come spring. We have a well. Barn is about 125 ft away. Should I run 1" pex because of the distance, or stick with 3/4"?

    Recirculation pump system

Another question as I am about to hook this all up...What happens if pump is on, but no water is being used, hot or cold...I'm thinking along the lines of a car doing a burnout...basically, the impeller is pushing water, but it was nowhere to go because no faucets are open.

    Recirculation pump system

There is a tee about 2 ft away from heater in basement. One side goes over and up to 2nd floor, other goes out and across a crawl space, tees to washer, continues then tees apart to another full bath and the kitchen

    Recirculation pump system

Looking at installing a recirculation pump, because hot water take "forever" to get to kitchen, and also upstairs bath. Of course they are exact opposite ends of pipe run...can I run two bypass valves and one pump? Or is there a better way? Kitchen I COULD run a return line, but amount of work...

    Retrofit Push to connect fittings.

Yes, used the disc cutter or whatever it is called, the deburring tool, then the wire brush tool.

    Retrofit Push to connect fittings.

So that slip joint would do the same thing I need as a union, right? Seems like it...Cut out a chunk of pipe, slide slip joint on, cut out another chunk put valve in, then a piece out the other side of valve, cut scrap to length to fit, slide slip coupling to connect to the in between scrap chunk??

    Retrofit Push to connect fittings.

Makes sense they are for copper...pex is probably flexible enough it isn't an issue in the same way...plus I didn't specify, but every time I experienced the issue was with copper.

    Retrofit Push to connect fittings.

I don't do a ton of plumbing, but enough that I've been having this issue...Every time I try to retrofit shark bites or other brands, the O-ring gets messed up during install, because neither side of the cut pipe has much movement. Is there a union or something that I can use in these situations?

    Can't get toilet to drain!!

Thanks for the replies. My gf has lived here for 10-11 months without much issue. I've been here for 2 months and didn't have an issue until a week ago. We have 2 kids aged 2.5 and 3.75 so a toy is VERY possible...I just can't believe I get tied up in the exact spot with EVERYTHING from both...

    Can't get toilet to drain!!

I have a toilet that will not drain. I have a GOOD plunger, I can get everything to eventually work through but still flushes slowly and will not go without lots of plunger work. I tried a specific toilet auger and it just loops back around into the bowl. I used a smaller drain snake for my...

Shower - Low Pressure and scalding hot at times

Yup, this seems like the first/main stage of the problem. The plumbing was definitely redone by a previous home owner, because it is all very chincy, pipe just dangling with no straps. It literally changes to 1/2 with reducer in the vertical pipe coming out of tank then everything else it teed...

Shower - Low Pressure and scalding hot at times

Not sure on pump right now...but I do know it is a shallow pump outside in a hole with a small wellhouse built around it. Not sure on size of pressure tank, but included a pic. There is some moisture around the tank, so I suspect a slight leak, but it could be the water heater leaking as the...

Shower - Low Pressure and scalding hot at times

Hey Guys, I'm having some issues with a house I just bought. The shower is a little on the low side of pressure. There are times it drops even lower at random. I figure it is the pump catching up, but hard to troubleshoot when I'm butt-naked and wet. More of an issue though, is any time any...

    Sched 40 or 30?

I'm sorry, I'm sure I know, but for whatever reason I cannot remember, as I do not do much plumbing...what is DMV?

    Sched 40 or 30?

I'm having a disagreement with a friend of what pipe is proper for drainage from sink, tub and toilet. He says he has a friend who is a licensed plumber that says you can use sched 30 pipe. And truthfully, I don't really see why not. However a few things make me question it. Why have all the...
