  1. drilling through studs to install a drain line- header needed?

    My plumber is adding a drain line for a kitchen and bath in my new carriage house and the plumber has drilled through numerous studs (about 5) on the exterior wall to run the drain line (from the kitchen to connect with the bathroom) through the wall. That drain line looks like nearly 3 inches round, going through 2x4 studs. Common sense tells me that when you cut a hole that large through such a small space (basically leaving approx. 1/2 inch for the actual support) they should be build a supporting ...
