Hi all, you guys were awesome when I did my garage rough-in. It is now time to do the house.

I am installing the rough plumbing in 2 days and I need to find 3 tub boxes. I am in kind of a middle of nowhere town so I have yet to be able to find them. Today at bLowe's I had to explain to the guy working in plumbing what it was and what it did. :(

Is there another name for it? I seen it called a "blockout" box on here, but only once.

HELP. :)

Any and all ideas are appreciated.

(I am south of Orlando, FL if anyone knows of a place in Orlando I could get it from.)

Just make them yourself - a few pieces of 1X4 nailed together and staked in place will do the job - Place them, then fill them with dirt to the top of the block-out - remove the wood after the concrete had cured with a pry-bar...
A lot more versatile and easier to find...LOL

tub box

Our tub boxes are just a cardboard rectangle that we set on the ABC over the drain and fill it with dirt so it keeps its shape and stays in place.

See! That is why I come here. You guys are amazing.

I was thinking about building them, but I am so tight for time, but I never thought about just forming it and filling with dirt.

I also like the 5 gallon bucket method. ;)

THANK YOU ALL!

Glad that I read this thread... doing the same in the near future. What alot of contractors do around here is just use cinder blocks then bust them out with a hammer... sounds like too much work for me... I'd prefer to build a flimsy form and fill with dirt. Make it easy to get into and thin enough that it wouldn't hurt to leave the form.
