I currently have the following pump

(Grr. Frustrating that I can't put his url in without adding spaces)

attached to my furnace.

I'm going to install a Desert Spring Humidifier. (http://www.desertspringproducts.com/products/humidifier.asp)

This humidifier will have a "flush timer" attached that will open the bottom of the humidifier tray so that the tray can be flushed of crud.

The tray holds about a gallon of water. I want to eject the contents of the tray using the Little Giant Pump. The pump has a 1/2 gallon tank. The pump has a 1/2 gallon reservoir.

I know nothing about the pump other than it seems to work fine to carry away air conditioning condensate and furnace condensate. I'm concerned that if I dump a half gallon of water into this pump that the pump will overflow and I'll end up with water all over my floor.

Anyone know how this pump works and if I have something to worry about?

What I'm thinking of doing is putting a valve on the hose line from the bottom of the humidifier tray so that the tray doesn't empty all at once.

Thoughts?
