A friend of mine as a culligan that he hasnt been using for 2 years, if it was working then could it still be any good after 2 years of not being used?

thank you

It could be good but if it is why aren't they using it?

If some one is giving it to you and you have the time to install it to see if it is going to work and if you are ready to call and pay Cullig*n to come and fix it should it need work or call them in the future when it does and pay their rates then by all means do it. Personaly I would never a Cillig*n.

they dont use it anymore cause their neighbourhood got connected to the town water service.

I have an old culligan softener and it died after 25 years , thats pretty good no?

That's beyond great. I was referring to the servicing of one.

Doesn't their town water have hardness?

bob...

Unless the softener is the correct size for your family, water use and quality, it won't work well or very efficiently. And if it is, and it is a time clock model, it will use up to twice the salt and water a metered, demand regenerated model would... And the resin could need replacement since it has been 2 yrs since the unit was used and the resin could be dried out and no good. Or contaminated with bacteria.
