Has anyone any experience with the Munckin boiler and the Munchpak? Either one separately, or together? What about their Vision 2 controller board?

This is a modulating ss high efficiency boiler. The Munchpak is a factory packaged piping/pump/supply plumbing package that lets you basically screw things together and attach it to the zones saving a lot of time on site.

The Vision 2 controller allows priority zoning for DHW and outdoor reset of modulating 3-way mixing valves while modulating the boiler output to match.

Spend some time on "The Wall" at HeatingHelp.com and try a search for Munchkin and Munchpak.

Seems as if (several years ago) they were having induction fan breakup problems. It's sensitive to proper installation - if your gas line and supply components aren't per spec, it has little tolerance. Same with the piping...you need a primary/secondary loop. If it is installed properly, it appears to be a nice device. Still haven't made up my mind. Consensus seems to be that the Viessman unit is made like a tank, and could last forever (in practical terms) with normal maintenance. The Munchkin won't. From some of the estimates, I could buy three Munchkin installations for the price of one Viessman...I'm still checking things out. Looks like about $7-8K for a Munchkin with indirect DHW, and over $20K for the Viessmann. Seems quite high, even if it is a tank verses a VW. Thought about the WM Ultra, but heard some recent problems with the bolts that hold the cast aluminum heat exchanger together allowing leaks.

Any thoughts on a small HE boiler and indirect would be appreciated. High efficiency and reliability is desired! Low temp radiant heat with a backup hydro-air system and DHW indirect. RR the existing boiler, plumbing and wiring of systems.
