I am new to this forum and I thank everyone in advance.

Now the problem...
I turned my pump off the other day to add a few valves in the house (added a new bathtub). While working the plumbing I also "bleached" the well. Now I don't know if either of these caused by problem but now the system will pressure up the tank to about 62lbs. and I will have water (for awlile). If I continue using the water the system is fine but once I stop, and after the pressure maxs out, the next time I use the water the pressure drops (as it shoiuld) but the pressure switch? doesn't start up the pump. If I manuel turn the pressue switch on it is fine until it maxs again. My wife has noticed that if a faucet is left on a few minutes (no water or air coming out of the pipes)
the pump starts up (less then 40lbs pressure).
I have a 240 pump hp unknown at about 50-60 feet or so.
There were a few frayed wires (the switch and at the pump) which I cleaned up.

My unprofessional guess is that when you turned things off, the inrush when things were turned on again dislodged some rust or other crud and the inlet to the pressure switch is partially plugged up and it can't immediately react to the pressure changes.

Did you use the chlorine pellets or other wise as used by well drillers? Did you use the required amount? If you used a laundry bleach, such a chlorox, or pool type chlorine, the fillers and other ingredients will damage certain things...the diaghram in the pressure switch, any tubing containing nylon, and sometimes the bladder in the pressure tank. Even too much of the right thing can create problems. You cant just "bleach" a well if your not sure what youre doing. I would replace the pressure switch and the nipple that the switch screws in to and see how that goes.
