I have read your posts but unfortuantely I need an elementary lesson. The problem I am having is my house is at 75 psi static, When one shower is turned on, the psi drops to 40 psi, when another shower is turned on the pressure reduces even more.

A Davey water booster was installed but that did not help the problem, All lines have been check, everything is clear, I have 3/4 " cooper line.

What I would like is to install a pump that will keep constant water pressure throughout the house when more than 1 shower/sink is turned on.

What exactly do you recommend, My only concern is that the pump is quiet ..

Thank you inadvance ...

If the Davey didn't help at all, you might have another problem. Like a filter that isn't passing enough water. Do you have a softener, iron filter, "whole house filter" or anything else in your plumbing that could be a restriction?

Where is this gauge that you are reading?

Thanks Bob,

To answer your question, we have no other devices hooked up to the water lines. The exact pressure readings are:

Street to House: 75 PSI Static

Street to House with Sink on: 40 PSI (No Pump)

Street to House with Sink on: 48 PSI (Pump On)

So, the Davey is doing something but not enough, What I am trying to achieve is when I shower I do not want the pressure to reduce when someone flushes the toilet, turns on another shower etc.

Thanks again for your advice.

If you only gain 8 psi with the booster pump you have now, I doubt you will gain any more with another unit. You can only draw so much water through a pipe of a given size. Yours from the street may only be 1/2" for all we know.

I would look into what is feeding the house from the meter. I would ask the neighbors how their pressure is. Maybe it's your water provider that isn't keeping up.

Your internal piping could be copper, but the line from the street might not be - could be galvanized, or it could be crimped. Had anything heavy drive across the lawn - a construction vehicle? Has anyone done any work, digging, etc?

Having pressure doesn't do you much good if the pipe is all corroded or has collapsed or crimped that is feeding it.

With the water not running, even if you had a 1/8" supply line, the pressure would be the same at the house and at the street, but it would not be able to flow much volume.
