Good evening. Looking for some much needed help. I have a new Jacuzzi Waterfall Tub Filler model T581/T582 installed. Whenever I turn the water on to this fixture, an ever so slight trickle of water appears from the spout.

I have replaced both valves with genuine Delta replacement parts (RP25513) and both seat and spring combos (RP4993) to no avail. The trickle of water is still present.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

It is not a pressure problem. Delta valves can handle 120 psi and probably more. Do you mean that is all the water you get when you turn on the faucet? If so then the hoses under the deck that connect the valves together are kinked and not letting water through. If you mean you get a leak trickle when the water is flowing, then you have a defective spout.

When I turn on the faucet, the water flows properly. When I turn off the faucet, a trickle still remains.

Please elaborate on the defective spout diagnosis. I had assumed that the spout was more or less purely decorative and that it was the valve's responsibility to stop any water flow when the faucet is off.

Thanks to both of you for the replies.

Does the trickle stop, or keep trickling? Whenever you shut off a faucet, the water left in the spout trickles out, the bigger and longer the spout, the longer the trickle.

Let's see...as a service plumber I should now after all of these years ignore the static pressure as a common result of most premature failures of plumbing products due to the fact that ALL products are engineered at 60 psi but certain mfgs (Delta) can handle 120psi?

I'm going to laugh at my doctor when I go and he says you have high blood pressure and I say that I don't need medicine because my heart can take it.

The spout cannot make a faucet leak; the inner workings are what causes leaks and one of them is too high of pressure beyond what it is engineered for.

Anytime I get a service call for a customer that rebuilt their faucet whether it be OEM parts or the knockoff Danco.......the very first thing in my hand is a pressure gauge so I know that I'm trying to fix the problem and not the symptoms.

Hopefully I'm wrong and pressure isn't the problem. It could be just calcium buildup or dirt not allowing the mating service of the seat cup mesh with the plate on those delta stems. Those seat cups can tear as well.

Replace the seat cups again; true Delta seat cups will look like they have a white dust on them; that's embedded silicone.
