I replaced a washing machine valve today and the supply hoses from the valve to the machine were those auto shut off types(Flood Safe maybe?).Got it all put back together, turned water back on at the shut offs in the utility room, and when I opened the wash. valve there was a loud clunk and when I turned the machine on,there was no water coming into the machine.I assumed that i opened the valve too quickly for the flood safes,so I shut the valve off, removed the hoses from the valve according to the instructions,re-installed them and then tried to slowly open the wash. valve(its a Symmons).Got the lever about halfway over and again heard the clunk sound and again no water.Removed hoses again, reattached, and this time left the wash. valve in the open position and slowly opened the ball valves in the supply lines to the valve.Seemed ok,but when I tried to turn the machine on,got the clunk sound again, and no water.I know that I'm getting water to the valve, and the screens in the inlets to the machine seemed to be clear,so I think the flood safes are shutting down. The tenant says they were given the machine by a friend of theirs who claimed that it works ok.Any one have problems with these supply lines before?Or does anyone see something that I could have tried ,or done differently? Thanks -jim

Personaly I don't like them. I would return them and get regular braded stainless.
