I have a DW hose *miele* that is connected to a disposal adapter that mates onto my 3/4" inlet DW tailpiece. A very minute drip is coming out of the connection where the adapter connects onto the DW inlet.

Other than making sure the clamp is screwed in nice and snug onto the inlet...is there anything else I should be doing on the inlet side of things...maybe slipping a O ring on the inlet to make the inlet-adapet even more SNUG ??

I'm not exactly sure what you're talking about, but if it's leaking at a hose connection, you need to clamp it tighter, and if it's leaking where the adapter screws in, you can apply teflon tape to the threads.

SS hose clamp

If it is on there with a SS clamp simply tighten it

think a mele is one of those clamps that work on
pressure that you have to open up then it squeezes down on the fitting when you let go ??

you might want to go out and get a new SS clamp

to fit the rubber....

or get some silicone and smear a bunch of that on the drip

or better yet
another thing that works real good that I see everyone
use to fix small leaks under their kitchen sink drain lines
is ---- ELECTRICAL TAPE----

just go out there and buy a 50 foot roll of black electrical
tape and slap on the whole roll

----its got to stop leaking sometime.. LOL

I think Miele is the DW's brand. But if a slip hose connection is leaking all you can do is tighten the clamp. Putting an "O" ring inside it could stop the leak, or it might just postpone it for a while.

You could try a small amount of plumbers grease on the nipple B4 you attatch the hose and clamp but generaly it shouldn't be needed. Could it be cracked?

Thanks guys. Yes, Miele is the brand of the DW.

I will tighten up the clamp a little bit more....just wasn't sure if too tight would be not such a good thing on the inlet.

Do I detect a bit of sarcastic humor here? BTW, electrical tape works nowhere near as well as duct tape. LOL

You all have missed the boat.

For a good water tight seal you first apply a liberal amount of GEs Best Silicone Caulk to the nipple. Then you attatch the hose to the nipple, then you add 1 - 50' roll of electrical tape with good tension, then you finish up with 1/2 a roll of duct/duck tape.

This will insure there are no leaks and if one is ever found all you have to do is call Red Green and he can take care of it.

I used about 2 tubes of chaulk and it's all good !
:p

Is that some combination of caulk and chalk? Can you use it to fill cracks and write on a blackboard?
