pressure test on new PEX tubing

I just put in 300 feet of PEX tubing for underfloor heating. Just to be sure I did n't screw it up, I ordered a pressure test kit from the PEX supplier which I then assembled. I pumped the PEX tubing system up to 20 lbs of pressure. I found that over an hour it lost 10 lbs. Then it lost a second 10 lbs in the next hour. Is this normal or do I have a leak, either in the PEX tubing, or in the pressure test jig which I built?
 
Well, its one or the other. Unless you ran a nail through a piece of pex somewhere, it should not leak. Maybe time for some soapy water at the connections. IF all of them are good, you ran a nail or screw through something somewhere. SOmetimes all it takes is another half turn on a fitting.
 
doyou have joints under the floor??

you got a bad leak.......so what did you do?

I dont care to put any joints under any slab floor
and a 300 foot of pex should not leak what so ever if it has
been rolled out in the floor without any joints involved......

this stuff is pretty pliable and can be pretty much laid out like
spagetti and for only about 90 bucks for a 300 foot roll its
not that expensive...

joints are not desireable .....under the floor..... but if you have to put in some to make it work , you should find a spot where you can come up above the floor and then go back down again for the next run...loop ...whatever...

they should all be above the floor where you can get to them 10 years from now.

its far cheaper to re -do it now rather than have to fool with
it after you have poured the concrete.
 
I paid alot more than $90 for my roll. Anyway, I have one connector that will go under the floor. I was about 20 ft short and in order to fully cover the room, I had to put in a joint. BTW, this is not going in a slab, it runs under a wood floor. I don't think I put a nail into it, since I haven't even put the floor over it yet. I am worried about that joint. It could also be the jig I built.
 
With 300" you might drop a little at first and it will swing up and down with the temperature going up and down but you have a major leak. What brand of pipe did you get and what fittings are you using?. Is there any way you can cut a hole and have the splice/connection under the floor so it can be serviced if it begins to leak down the road?
