RedJacket 1/2 hp pump used in Aerator of well system

I have installed a new RedJacket 1/2 hp 50F21112G8 pump into the aerator of my well system. The pressure goes up to 60 then water bleeds back from pressure tank and pressure drops to 40. This keeps cycling. Can you tell me what the problem might be?

I would say the check valve is leaking.

If the pump doesn't have an internal check valve, you have to add an external check valve on the ouitlet of the pump.
