Piping for natural gas

I heat my home with natural gas. I have a 24x24 building about 80-100 ft behind my house that I would like to heat with natural gas as well. My question is: What type of pipe would I have to bury? And: What is an estimated cost for a run of 80-100 ft?

1. The best is polyethylene gas pipe.
2. The companies should not sell you polyethylene gas pipe if you are not a certified installer.
3. You have no experience with it so you do not know all the steps involved in placing the gas pipe.
4. Call a plumber.

4a. Try to find a plumber who will work with you to minimize your cost. You can dig the ditch cheaper than he can, and a skilled plumber would just as soon sell his plumbing skills as his ditchdigging skills. If I were such a plumber, I'd buy the pipe, sell it to you at my markup, instruct you in digging the ditch and otherwise getting the site ready for me, and have you call me when the ditch, etc., is ready to accept the pipe.

How deep does gas line have to be buried?

I would go at least 12 and 24" if possible.
