Need new pump. WHat should I get?

The submersible pump on my 305 foot well is probably failing. It is reading high amps and appears to be going into a thermal shutdown after extensive use. I have a 3 bath residential use - nothing extra or out of the ordinary.

Should I get a variable speed? Or not. (no tinfoil hat digressions pls!)
What other options are there besides the standard type of submersible pump?

I can post more well specs if necessary.
