ejector pump keeps running

The ejector pump in my basement pumps the water out fine ,but it continues to run after it empties. I don't know anything about these pumps so any help would be greatly appreciated.

you have a bad switch.....

you will need to take the lid off the pit and change the switch or you
could eventually burn out the pump

hopefully you have a two wire pump that has the switch separate from the pump and its easy to change,,,
