Hi all, great site here.

We installed a Richmond 50gal gas heater yesterday.....everything was fine till we noticed the T&P valve leaking....

But it isn't leaking through the valve.....its leaking through the threads. Now this T&P was factory installed.

Any ideas to stop this?? I know about pressure and heat with these valves, but I would think if it was either of those, it would be leaking through the valve itself and not through the threading into the heater.

Any advice would be very appreciated.

Sounds like it wasn't screwed in tightly. Turn the water off, take the drain pipe off the TP, remove it, redope or tape the threads, and put it back on.

thanks Gary done...

we were actually afraid to do this cause it stated to have a pro only install it, but we are now leak free.

Thank you

If it will make you feel better, you can send me a check for $150.:D

The tank was probably assembled on a monday or friday....the two worst days of of human error.

It would be nice if you could specify a date on certain items built in manufacturing.
