I purchased a 35-year old house one month ago. A couple of days ago, one of the showers developed a problem: Sometimes, the hot water pressure in the shower is barely more than a trickle.
Two nights ago, I went in to take a shower and the hot water pressure was very low. After a couple of minutes, the pressure immediately went back to the normal level and stayed there. The same thing happened last night, but it took a little longer for the pressure to come back up. This morning, my wife took a shower and the pressure stayed low.
The shower has separate hot and cold water valves.
None of the other taps were on and I don't see any obvious signs of a leak. There is no problem with the cold water pressure in the shower. The hot and cold water pressure at all of the other faucets in the house is great.
Any suggestions as to what might be causing this and how I can fix it?
