OK..I put in new non-CI tub...

instructions tell me to nail a 2x4 support along the rear wall at specified height....done...

So, tub is supported on front wall of tub, and rear flange...

problem is, the tub squeeks when we step in...

what can I do to fix this now...before I close up the walls and tile the area??

Thanx, and sorry if this is a common and previously answered question...

Any plastic, fibreglass, or pressed steel tub: it is recommended to bed the tub in something like structolite or gypcrete to stiffen up and support the bottom.

Thank you both.

For future knowledge, are there specific plastic tubs that are strong enuff not to deflect like this?
