When I bought my TOTO Vespins, I specificly purchased that model because it came with SG finish and in almond color, both of which I wanted. I would have preferred a couple of other models of Totos, but that was the only one that had that combination. Being a bit of a student of marketing, I wondered at the time why Toto didn't use the SG finish as a major marketing tool, and why they only offered it on (apparently) random product offerings.
In hindsight (no pun intended), while I really like the Toto overall, I'm not sure the SG finish is worth making it a purchase driver. Maybe Toto knows that.
