Hello all

I am new to this forum and like to get some advice on how to replace my old fixtures in both bathrooms.
I do a lot around the house myself but I haven't really got a lot of experience in plumbing so I wonder if I should do it myself or let a plumber do it.
I will include pictures of my old fixtures...can anyone tell me if this can be done by a do it yourselfer?
If yes tips and websites with step by step instructions are welcome

thank you

Ron

All those things, except for the fixture itself, are pretty straight forward. Unscrew the old, screw in the new.
The fixture will require access to the pipes, cutting out the old, soldering in the new...........it's not rocket science for a DIYer, but if you've never done something like that, you will want to seek the help of someone who has.

Humm...so there is a possibility I need to open up the wall(s) or not to access the pipes?

It is almost a definite that you will have to open the walls because, unless you just replace the trim pieces that you see, the valve in the wall has to be replaced also.

If I just want to replace the spout with diverter will that be possible without opening walls?Because these are the only parts that don't function really well
I'm looking for a temporarely fix until I can pay the big bucks:p

thanks

Yes, you can replace just the spout only. Razor around it, to cut thru the old caulk, and it should either unscrew, or twist off. They make universal tub spouts that will work for almost any instance. The same goes for the shower head, and you can also replace the trim ring on the faucet. So with the exception of the original valve body, you'll be looking as good as new.

Before you go trying to unscrew those spouts, look on the bottom for a set screw. They sure do look like Moen spouts and they often use the "slip" type spout that goes over copper tube.
