Just need some experienced advice on how to proceed. Below are some photos of the roughed in basement bathroom as it sits today. You can see the white pvc vent (least I think it is vent and not drain or is it both?) running up the wall. In the floor I've cleared away the cover and the dirt so you can see what is a 2" pvc a bit off center of the hole. Not sure if this off-centering is by design. Is this what I tap into to hook my p-trap to and my shower drain and/or bath overflow? Just cut a section out and try to force a T in there with the purple primer and the pvc glue?

It seems like the pvc in the wall comes down and enters the slab but it doesn't seem to be in line with the one I've found in the floor.

Any questions? Guidance will be much appreciated.

The house is in Minnesota, built just last year (2004-5).
