I am new to this forum and have a question. I am moving my gas dryer a couple feet down the wall in my laundry room. The 60" flex pipe reaches but i still need a little more room to move. Right now the black pipe is about 3 1/2 feet off the concrete floor. I want to extend the pipe 2' down to give me more room to move. Question is how far off the floor can this pipe connection be? is there a code for this? Any and all help is greatly appreciated

Just get a 2' length of black pipe and the necessary fittings to extend the pipe. There's no problem with the pipe 1-1/2' off the floor. Be sure to use either pipe dope or teflon tape, tighten well, and use liquid dishsoap to make sure you have no leaks.

Get a support bracket in there. You don't want to build a two foot lever that makes it easy to accidentally loosen the connection when connecting up/moving out the dryer.

Thanks, After i put it in last night i realized it had some movement. I do need to support it.
