Double sink drain Q

Well I can't yet attach a pic, but lately the kitch sink has been stinking at my sisters house. Kitch was remodeled awhile ago, I looked at the drain set up and it looks a little goofy. Is it OK to have the drain off the disposer, after the trap run into a t connection from the other sink near the bottom of the tailpiece. I didn't think for some reason that you were supposed to use these t connections....

The way you describe it, it sounds like a normal connection, but we might not be interpreting your description properly.
