Am installing a Toto toilet on a newly installed ceramic tile floor. Somewhere I read about putting thin no slip strips on the bottom of the toilet, where it contacts the tile, to eliminate movement between the ceramic surfaces until everthing setttles into place. Is there any merit to this??

A toilet should be leveled and bolted to a properly anchored floor flange, and then the toilet should not move. I've never heard of putting anything under one to keep it from "slipping". You can put caulking around the sides and front for looks, but that has nothing to do with "slipping".
Good Luck!
