View Full Version : Faucet leaking

I replaced a old cartridge with a new one to fix hot water spout dripping.
At begining, it works fine, no more leaking. But after a day, it drips again.

I am wonderring:

1. the rubber ring seal in the cartridge can't stand with hot water ?
2. any problem in my installation process ? though it was done smoothly.
3. defect in my new cartridge ?

Please give me a hint. Thank you very much !

Make and model of faucet? OEM or after market cartridge?

I bought it from HomeDepot.

I don't have the receipts with me, so I can't tell the manufacturor's name now.

What are possible reasons you think about ?

Thank you very much !

It would not be a problem with the seal not being able to withstand hot water because faucets have to do that every day. It could go in smoothly and still be damaged, but would normally leak immediately, not normally after a day or two. That leaves a defective part as the most likely item, given what we know at this time. Some faucets have multiple parts that prevent leaks and if yours is one of them and you only replaced one part, then there could be others that are causing the leak. That is the reason for wanting to know the make and model of the faucet.
