Help... Does anyone know how to cut a cast iron tub neatly? I don't want to break it up with a sledge hammer. I need to make a nice clean cut.
What would be the best way to cut it? Thanks

This tub was broken up with a sledge hammer. Plastic over the tub to contain the sharp porcelain.

a diamond wheel in a hand grinder would do it. Nothing is going to cut cast iron "fast".

Diablo metal 4 1/2 grinder disc. The diamond one.

HI LEELEE,I'm also a welder

I own a 14" gas cut off saw for concrete and steel. you will need to rent one. buy a 14" carborumdum cut off blade. do not take the diamond blade that rents seperately with the saw! also buy a full plastic face shield.

this has to be done outside! sparks will start a fire or ruin GLASS.

BE CAREFUL! good luck Tool

Why in the world do you want to cut it??

It will be a long, time consuming job creating lots of dust and smoke from the cutting wheel.

A sledge hammer will take about 15-20 min. tops and that includes carying it outside.

Personaly I think your crazy.

With a sharpned edge it might make a nice, self draining, guillotine.
