im building a new house which will have a 5x4 shower with 2 shower heads

Many modern tub/shower valves have a restrictor in the outlet to the shower.
This is tp prevent shower dribble in the tub mode. If it is a shower only valve, it may not have the restrictor, or you could remove it. With the restrictor removed, I believe most brands are rated at something in excess of 5 GPM, so 2 shower heads would work. You need to consider a looping pipe arrangement to balance the flow to the 2 heads.
The "tub" port on the bottom of the valve has a much larger opening to it, so you might consider plugging the top "shower" port and run the bottom ones to the heads. Some valves can be inverted after reversing the interior cartridge so that the "tub" port is on top.
