My husband thinks the water is frozen, but I don't think so since it is coming on and going back off again. This morning I thought it had thawed as it was running, so I started a bath, but with the water running full tilt it stopped- not all of sudden but still rather quickly- and I don't think it would freeze while running, would it?

Also I noticed some silt in the tub. I am thinking something must be broken under the house.

(NOT what the husband wants to hear)

Help!!!!

water

It would not freeze while running, but a broken pipe would let the water out, not likely to let silt in. And if it were broken, once the water was gone it would not come back. You may have a well that is running out of water.

Yes I am on a well.

Running out of water did cross my mind.

Is that the only possibility???

Edited to add: Thank-you so much for the prompt respone.

The well is new- less than two years old. Not even half paid for, of course.

Woohoo!!!!

Was partially frozen going into pressure tank???
Have H2O now!!!!

(Hubby says "We are NOT going to run out of water.")

DElighted to have found such a helpful home board though.

Thank-you very much.

I'll be back.

Water softener???

Do you have a water softener????

If you are noticeing silt in the tub and fixtures, if it is

like a honey brown color, your water condtioner has

"self destructed " on you... the minerals in the tank have been

sucked out into the plumbing system.....

If you have one, I suggest you put it into the "bypass mode "
ASAP

then you will have to have someone come out and clean
out the minerals from your plumbing system.....

Kenai Peninsula Memories

Noticed your location. It brings back memories of a visit 8 or 9 years ago. We drove down the west side of the peninsula, and visited Soldotna, Kenai, Ninilchik, Anchor Point, Homer, Seldovia, and the little village of Nikolaevsk east of Anchor Point. Then walked on the glacier along road over to Seward. Saw the unique boat launching at Anchor Point.
