I need to install a bidet in a friends bathroom because I have attacked many plumbing problems in her home. She has a raised foundation so the drainage and water lines are easy to locate. However, I have never installed a bidet before. By looking at it, it seems to have a standard lavatory style pop-up assembly which leads me to believe that it only needs a 1 1/2" trap and trap arm with a 1 1/2" ABS MIP coming out of the floor. Does this sound right or does the code require you to use some other size piping or mounting materials? Thank you for your time.

Bidets use standard 1-1/4" tail piece.

So, a 1-1/2" trap with reducer would be fine.
