Pressure loss in welltrol tank?

My water system loses pressure, causing the pump to come on frequently throughout the day and night. I've checked to make sure I have no water leaks anywhere. Could my welltrol tank be the cause of the pressure loss?

First timer--thanks in advance for any help!

Somewhere in the system there is a check valve - if it leaks, letting water back down the well, this can happen. A crack or bad joint in the piping could do it as well.

Thanks for the reply -- I never thought of the check valve--I'm going to replace it tomorrow and see if that solves the problem.

You didn't mention what kind of pump you had?

Jim--I replaced the check valve today and that solved my pressure loss problem. (re to bob--I have a submersible pump inside a 1000 gal holding tank)
