question about chrome cpvc valve

help a novice out...........please.

if it matters, the part# is a brasscraft "PR19 C1" valve

i need to replace a turn off valve on a cold water supply
pipe under the sink. the supply pipe is cpvc.

i bought the valve. it is chrome plated and has a
cpvc insert inside the valve body.

QUESTION
do i cement the supply pipe to this insert while
the insert is inside of the valve body....
OR do i take the valve body apart, cement the supply pipe
to the insert and reassemble the valve body?

of course i'll be as carefull as possible with teh primer/cement
i'm worried about getting cement/primer inside the valve body
or the chrome and screwing up the works.

it seems like it would be difficult to take the valve body apart
and remove th cpvc insert. the manufacturer would have
shipped it with teh valve body loose if they wanted me
to remove teh cpvc insert??? does that make sense?

ahhh what a mess.....

comments please.

thanks a bunch,

I don’t have much experience with cpvc piping. What you might want to try, is to e-mail the manufacture of the valve, or get a 800 number to the manufacture and ask them, (if you don’t get any help here).

It's intended to be glued onto cpvc in one piece, just as it comes out of the box.
