Hello everyone. I have two quick questions. First is which looks better under a pedestal sink, 1 1/2 or 1 1/4 p-trap?? I think 1 1/2 will look bulky but I don't know what the norm is so I need some advice. Second is the extra deep escutcheon's that come with the p-traps I've looked at are only 1 5/8 deep. Does any place make them deeper?? I need 2". Thanks

You need all the room you can get.
A plumbing supply house should have deep escutcheons.......

I had the same issue. I initially opted for the 1 1/4" for aesthetics. When I got to the store, I mistakenly picked up the 1 1/2". When I got home, I realized my mistake.

The point is, IMHO, there isn't much of an aesthetic difference. Go with the 1 1/2" if you have the space. It'll be less likely to clog.

Also, I've been surprised that even though I have an exposed ptrap and droopy flexible supply lines, my initial fear that this would look sloppy was unfounded. Your eye just isn't drawn to it in such a small room from such a close vantage point (unless you're a plumber, I guess.)
